Hi! I’m Derrick Leu, a writer currently based in Cupertino (South Bay), California. I graduated from the University of California, Davis, in 2013 with a degree in English and a focus in Creative Writing. I am currently a Technical Writer documenting cloud enterprise-level financial and accounting software at a Pleasanton company named Workday.

My primary responsibilities for eGain include the maintenance and documentation of the following:

• User guides,
• Online help files
• Troubleshooting guides
• System requirements
• Release notes
• Online web tutorials and videos

In the past, I was a QA Tester at Perfect World Entertainment, where I did a lot of localization, writing, and editing for their China-based MMO, Perfect World International.

I’ve played video games since I was 6 and though I no longer work in the video games industry, I plan to continue working on games as personal projects. Some of my favorite games include Baldur’s Gate II, Dragon Age: Origins, The Witcher 2, Warcraft 3, and Ultima Online. Aside from gaming, I enjoy reading books – especially fantasy novels – and going on long bike rides.
